Greater Toran Empire
The Greater Toran Empire are the reunited lands of the Toran republic and the GAM under the orginial Empress of the GAM, Minoriko. The capital city is known locally as 'Tora' or more offically as 'Tora no Seishi'. With the Declaration of Independance of the Tri-Isles and the city of Eien-Kyo, the “Original Empress of the GAM”, now has no power in the lands of the Second Greater Pan-Asian Meritocracy, of which she formed NO PART OF.
History
The founding of Tora began with an expedition of former G.A.M second and third members (Minoriko, UtsuhoReiuji, Waffenbaum being the first) aswell as newcomer Dat_Nazrin, who set out to form a new settlement that had both space to build on and was free from the inner political drama of the former G.A.M. The expedition set out on boats to the east to find a village with uncivilized people to colonise. The perfect site was found in the area of X -760 Z -2500 and Tora was born.
Early Tora was a a mix of defaut NPC houses and small cobble and wool cottages to provide shelter from Jihadist while the resources for the larger building projects could be gathered. The city of Tora later grew to fill the flatlands in the center of the Toran continent with many large structures and houses.
Envious of the grand city, barbarian tribes settled in the barren wastelands and began raiding the city mulitple times. Many Yev citizens, crops and glowstone lamps were victims of Katten terror. During the chaos of the Mongol wars the old cold war betweem Tora and the GAM faded as they faced a common foe.
Waiting for the server to update lead to all of the Torans becoming inactive. With the stagnation of Tora many imperialist powers plotted to diplomatically annex her. However with the return of some of the Toran citizenry a deal was proposed that Tora would become an automous state within the Khanate.
With the Fall of the Soviet nation and the abdication of the GAM leadership by the horde, Rosenmann, the last remaining noble of the GAM, negotiated the restoration of the Minoriko monarchy to the GAM. This was agreed on July 15th and the nation of the Greater Toran Empire was born. With the independance of the Tri-Isles and Eien-Kyo, the “Greater Toran Empire” has no longer enough citizens to be called a nation, and therefore is demoted to the rank of settlement.
Peaceful Katar Annexation of Tora
With basically every Toran seemingly gone, the Katten Khanate declared for the 3rd time that Tora was theirs and subsequently annexed them. This angered Badface, who then decided to put the fate of Tora up to the staff. This however did not include any mention of Katar claim on the land. The two options were staff takeover, or have it become North Badface. Thing were looking bad for the Khanate until Minoriko logged on. Khanate official quickly tried to negotiate terms of peaceful annexation. It was decided that Tora would become an Autonomous State under the Katten Khanate. The staff resolution for the fate of Tora was voided after this proclaimation, the Torans have the right to self determination.
With the creation of the Empire, Tora still remains a vassal of the Khanate. However the Khanate will have no say in the internal affairs of the nation.
Territory
The seat of power is the great Tenshu within 'Tora no Seishi', the capital.
Other notable cities include the former GAM cities of the 'Tri-Isles' and 'Eien-Kyo'. The citizens of these cities are free to continue as they were. However the former GAM banners must now be replaced with the flag of Tora, except in historical buildings and learning centers.
These cities have declared their independance from the Toran Empire, and have become separate, historically united, settlements. Therefore, any Toran laws are now banned.
Economy
The area around the city of Tora is littered with caves and abandoned mineshafts which have been a blessing to the local miners. These minerals were then boosted by the use of weeaboo magic pickaxes. The strong demand for wool in the construction industry led to large farms being made in the city and horrible ignorance of animal welfare with chickens being stuffed into tiny coops.
Tourism is a welcome part of the economy of Tora, with hidden underground railways, and a netherway being constructed and managed by the Trans-Toran Railway Company. These services currently run from Null Station to Tora, Tora to Nedermark.
Local Life and Issues
Despite getting bombarded by drama from the various communities due to the political situation regarding the old world, the people of Tora strongly obey the international policy of Isolationism. 'We dont wan no trabble' being the national motto seen on all embassies of the Toran Empire.
With the diplomatic annexation of the GAM, it is unknown what the population of the former GAM will do. Should they choose to stay they will have full rights as citizens and may continue to work there lands. Chicken Buddhism, the native religion of the former GAM is prohibited and the empire encourages the school of worship of the true Tiger Buddhism faith. The Tiger, not the chicken, is the new holy animal of the Empire. With the Delcaration of Independance of both the Tri-Isles and the city of Eien-Kyo, Chicken Buddhism, the rightfull religion of the old GAM has been re-established and therefore, the old citizens are free to practice their ancient religion without fear of Toran persecusion. The chicken has been declared once again the sacred animal of the Tri-Isles and Eien-Kyo.
Local Gov't/Representation
The nation is an Empire, currently lead by the imperial household of the Minoriko dynasty.
Noble houses of both former nations may retain their noble status and positions of power, but must answer to the empress.
