Regarding /home

As understandable as it is to remove the /home command to enhance everyone's experience on the server, i feel the execution for this perfectly good intention is faulty.
My arguments regarding its utility are pretty much the same as Glitchy's, although i advise (and repeat what i stated esterday, for easier access) a different course of action:

* Reimplement /home, but 'nerf' it. /home is a great commodity: is is used to quickly get to a custom waypoint while building a town, or eascape one's responsabilities in a shitty situation, such as unwanted combat or getting out of an extremely deep hole dug out in search of resources.
My advice for /home is to render it unusable under a certaint distance from one's bed, such as a pair of hundred blocks or more, along applying a five minute cooldown to the command. These should inspire more responsible use of the command.

* Remove /spawn. The /spawn is, in my opinion, expendable. In such a small map it merely acts as a shortcut to the crossroads between city hubs and the most wanted commodities, such as the future end portal and a possible player market.

I do not like the removal of /spawn or /home either, it's a great advantage for lesser autistic players and noobs. Those commands are also a very nice thing when it comes to TRADES, which can be done fast and smoothly this way, which makes our Server even better. But I will deal with it, however I ask mods either to wait a few weeks before removing the commands, so players can build infrastructure by themself, or to support infrastructure actively, exempli gratia by establishing a new nethertop (which is at the moment kind of overblown, but at least made of lots of Ordnung).

I think that I would prefer to have /home and /spawn and no nethertop than other way around :S —Rosenmann

With /home and /spawn not removed and nethertop accessible we will have the same shit we have on oceania, people living thousand blocks from each other, no interaction and extreme landrunning. Keep /home with like at least 15 minutes cooldown and block access to nethertop I say. We should do everything possible to encourage setting transportation means in overworld and settling close to each other. Just because someone will be mad cos he has to connect his place to another settlement and get horses doesn't mean we have to keep all this neurotypical shit ruining the fun. You don't have tp commands in single player and most of servers. Pedał

Access to limbo shouldn't weigh too heavily unless if moderators start to punch holes through the bedrock. The only access above bedrock is using a glitch and Nether Portals above y:128 are one-way. Travel by limbo is pretty pointless on a small map. Some limitations to warping could be pretty nice since it'd encourage the building and usage of roads or railways. If anything, the ability to use /sethome anywhere seems pretty cheap. — hino 2013/12/15 21:39
