The Maritime Republic of Coenstad

Coenstad will be an island-based settlement as close to the sea as possible, Coenstad aims to become a small but cozy Dutch merchant-themed republic with an average amount of influence in world politics. Coenstad is named in honor of Jan Pieterzoon Coen, for his noble deeds which include putting whores in their place and making removal of natives collaborating with cockroaches, a great man indeed. Coenstad will be led by Kankersteen we will vote on it you negro, it IS a republic after all. The leader will hold the tittle of stadholder

Current flag proposal:

The gold band stands for the anticipated prosperity the republic will enjoy, red white and blue stand for the dutch national colors, a heavy influence in Coenstad.

YugoTexas' flag proposals

Coenstad is a republic, the ruler is called a stadtholder, and will be elected 7 days after the official establishment of Coenstad. Most of the time citizens can act independently, if the rules and ordnung are kept in mind.

No formal foreign relations have been established as of yet.

Depending on when the server launches no clue when yet all participants will obviously gather at the spawn, before we set out we will proceed to make some temporary housing for a couple of in-game days, to gather coal, wood, stone and food. We will make at least one bed and swords because of kankermobs, once we're done, we will try to make our way to the water, for it will lead to the promised island we long for, we will aim to find a marsh biome, it's most likely we'll find suitable islands in a marsch biome, every nightfall, we will make shitty mudhouses to spend the night in, we can't afford dieing before we reach the holy land, you goys. Eventually we will find a suitable island, and Coenstad will be born'd.

What location are we looking for? * Medium to Large sized island * Bordering a sea biome, the more directions, the better * A tropical feel would be nice * Critters must spawn, there should be sufficient trees and grass

LOCATION: 370 X 525 Z

WARNING: a stronghold mineshaft is beneath the city

The next couple of days would consist of housing our citizens in a orderly way, the regency would examine the new land and plan the future development of the city before those will be built, for maximum ordnung. Once the players are housed in a cozy fashion, we will start several building projects, which may include:

  • A Port
  • Man O' Wars and Indiamen to go with that port
  • City hall
  • A star fort overlooking the sea
  • A regular mine
  • A diamond mine
  • Connection to the future netherway
  • Construct a internation trade post in a profitable location (gotta get rich, yo)

And so on…

Our future mission would be:

  • Claiming ownership of the neighbouring islands (if any)

Rules/laws/etc

Since it will be on an island(s), some basic laws regarding buildings will be implemented as to not waste space. Also, depending on which mods from the old server will be implemented here, playing with fire may or may not be allowed.

Buildings wise, we want to achieve 100% ordnung, ask for permission before you build shit. Clusterfuck ukraine architecture =/= coziness

And no fucking 1-block cobblestone towers

If you chop a tree, chop all of it, logs hanging in the air usually produce tumor-ridden trees when it grows back.

There is a holy tree up in a big hill. It is a holy tree. DO NOT CUT DOWN.

There's also a second Holy Tree which was found floating a meter off the ground with only its vines holding it up, has been marked with touches. DO NOT CUT DOWN.

Finally, as it is a maritime republic, we are 100% capitalist. Go to hui if you want communism.
