History: Newfoundland
Founding/Time Period
In the beginning there was Ghoul, a young profiteering go getter straight out of the 80's Gekko style you dig? His mission was to corner the wool market with the finest materials which instantly became a smashing success allowing him to feast on cake every night while avoiding the mob. But his burning heart was not cooled by mere triffles so he began recruiting the finest minds in all of lands while developing cobble mining interests at his bunker compound.
His marketing campaign the “Merchant's Guild never loses” was met with roaring success inflating his number by 600% (citation needed) , a short while after the first MG megaproject® the South West Viaduct was completed linking the undeveloped and empoverished western swamps to Alphatown with a series of trade canals.
The Construction of Berndrock
Berndrock was a failed joint venture between the Tri-Isles & MG. The idea had been to provide safe and affordable housing in virgin territory for the increasingly overpopulated nation states of the east, after 30.000 StB's were removed the site became increasingly infested with creepers turning much of the assigned worktime into a battle with some houses being rebuilt several times over the course of the workday. Berndrock and the Feel Ravine (a protected MG Natural wonder®) can be accessed via the arena rail from Alphatown.
Desert Acquisitions
In the third quarter of 2011 the MG board accepted in a unanimous vote to aquire land for future projects and the western half of the defunkt settlement Deseret was aquired using jew magic overthrowing the disinterested facists in leadership, the area was then spun off as a settlement independant of the Merchant Guild and named Samarkand.
Deseret Resistance
The Merchant's Guild had a cold war of construction versus FormatGhost the leader of the Deseret resistance, however this little war is over since FormatGhost moved from the area. All Deseret assets have since been incorporated into the greater Samarkand township.
History: Oceania
The new headquarters of Merchant's Guild is on the continent of Sternia in the settlement Markadia. After Flakese's departure from the guild and Ghoul losing his interest in guild management the Markadian HQ has been abandoned and left for the old residents in Markadia.
Controversies
Rumours have surfaced that the wool MG Furnishing® has been selling is synthetic spider wool, MG corporate has staunchly denied all such allegations dismissing them as “Unfounded.” and “Everybody doing it, but NOT us!”.
