The Northern Confederation is an autonomous confederation consisting of two towns.

Beginnings

The Confederation's roots begin with the state of Wojakistan. Wojakistan started as a small mine created by Sqoot and Notaspark on June 28th. As the mine expanded a mansion was built to house the two miners, and the town of Slavograd was formed. On June 29th the two adventurers declared the birth of a new country, and named it Wojakistan. The town grew, with a few houses and a wall being built within a few hours. At first Wojakistan was to remain isolationist and neutral to the other factions, but conflict arose with the Dwarven realm of Breshik over Sqoot breaking a pledge, an act which he denied doing. The Astonians soon joined the side of the Dwarves in the war.

Union with Kaiserstadt

On June 30th Wojakistan merged with Kaiserstadt, a small country in the far reaches of the world map, becoming the Northern Confederation, and construction of a railway connecting the two places began. Later that day a truce was established with the Dwarves and Astonians, ending the bloodless war and returning peace to the realm. The same day, a diplomatic crisis over the territory that the Confederation claimed almost caused the small state to be invaded by Kurwa and Batt.x. Under pressure from a mod and the two powerful states, the Confederation backed off it's claims. This prompted Kaiserstadt to break off from the Confederation, and for the Confederation to revoke a large amount of its claims.

Post Union

Upon the withdrawal of Kaiserstadt from the Confederacy, the country withdrew 3/4ths of its claims, and set upon the task of building a new capital. Slavograd was too close to the Confederacy's borders to be used as a capital, and its lack of a building code made it look less orderly than what a city representing its country's splendor should look like. A site was chosen a bit north from Slavograd at the spot where the rails that were originally being built to connect Slavograd and Königsberg stopped, and a ziggurat was built there. This was to mark the spot for the future capital of the Northern Confederacy, Londonabad. On July 1st the Northern Confederation signed an alliance treaty with Breshik after the aggression they suffered earlier that day at the hands of Kurwa and her allies.

Sqoot's depart and the Confederation's future

During the early hours of July 4th, Sqoot unexpectedly abandoned his town of Londonabad, and therefore, the Northern Confederation. He appointed Vuistverkrachter the town's Emir before departing, meaning that he is now his replacement in the Confederate council as well. Vuistverkrachter transfered his power to notaspark. Notaspark proclaimed general elections for July the 6th, as well as a proposal for name change to the “Emirate of Wojakistan”. The candidates were Kankersteen and RObro. After a tense election, RObro achieved a close victory and was named “Emir of Londonabad”, his first decision was appointing his electoral opponent, Kankersteen as the official advisor of Londonabad. Additionally, the issue of the name change failed to pass.

Disestablishment

After Sqoot's departure, the Confederation entered a state of decline, many people started departing to other towns or leaving the server altogether. Soon Slavograd became a ghost town, and the two leaders of the nation, Notaspark and RoBro, left. Only a few people remained in Londonabad, and they later moved away to make another, smaller town isolated from others. On August 9th, Sqoot and Vuistverkrachter returned to Londonabad with the goal of returning the city to its former prosperity. Realizing that most of its members left, and not wanting to continue playing around with politics and nation building, Sqoot disbanded the confederation, preferring to rule over Londonabad.

Slavograd, the former capital of Wojakistan, is a short walk east from the spawn city of Perkele. It sits on the coast of a sea and has many surrounding forests and hills. Slavograd sits very close to the border and as a result is surrounded by a wall to aid in its defense in times of conflict, this was deemed to be insufficient and the construction of a second city, Londonabad, began. Lodonabad soon outgrew Slavograd in its size and population, and took its place as the nation's capital.

The Northern Confederation consists of the town of Slavograd, having lost Königsberg to defection. A second town began construction early July 1st. Slavograd's location and lack of building code make it an unsuitable place to make the capital of the nation. After some planning, a new location was chosen for a future capital, which was later named Londonabad. Throughout the day citizens of the Northern Confederation worked tirelessly on the town, recruiting more people into the rising nation in the progress. Soon the population of Londonabad swelled and it was decreed the capital of the nation July 2nd.

The Confederacy is made up of semi-Autonomous towns, whose rulers still get to preside over them as well as represent their settlement's interests in the Confederate Council. Currently the only two towns in the confederacy are Slavograd and Londonabad, meaning that there are only two council members. Currently, due to the crisis, the only council member is notaspark.

The Confederacy has diplomatic relations with The Dwarven Realm of Breshik and Astonia. The Confederacy is allied with the Dwarves since July 1st.

The first diplomatic crisis occurred when the Northern Confederation found out about a resident in the middle of the road between the free state of Kaiserstadt and Wojakistan. The crisis, which lasted several hours, ended up in 3 NC residents sieging the house and due to the intervention of a mod, the recalling of the claim on this land. Kaiserstadt resultantly backed out from the union, and only the town of Slavograd remained.

Laws

The Northern Confederacy doesn't have much in the way of laws, but a building code has been implemented in Londonabad, which only allows for the use of Sandstone in the construction of buildings unless granted permission from one of the leaders of the country.

The Northern Confederation's isolationist policies frown upon trade. The country prefers to be self-sufficient, and as a result all of its citizens, including its rulers, actively partake in gathering resources such as ores, food, and lumber for the country. Citizens are allowed to have their own property and belongings, but sharing valuable resources is encouraged. The Confederation has no tax or stores so far due to its low population.

An arena built by Notaspark, with the generous help of RObro, attracted many spleef players from around the world. There are plans for tournaments to take place.

The Confederation's low population does not allow the government to appoint people to work exclusively as soldiers, but the defense of the country is mandatory for every citizen during war. Each citizen is at least moderately armed to defend themselves from mobs. To that end, a public armory was created.
