Hisn alAqim is a restored piglin bastion that is centered on that which is hidden and buried. The piglins restored after finding ancient cities in the overworld (from their bastion of Hisn alInsaniya).

The name translates to “Bastion of the Deep”, the reason is its relation to the deep and profound in earth, the nether and the soul.

The piglins restored the settlement in late 2022. As a bastion restored with pieces of ancient cities it holds a special relation to the earth and what lies beneath it. As such it also has the largest reservoir of water and mud in the netherworld.

The bastion lies beneath nether wastes, just slightly jutting out of them. Portals opened in ancient cities lead to it and the soul torches found in them are direct evidence of the nether denizens' history in the ancient cities.

The sections include, but not limited to:

  • Bedtime reading niche - a room to read before one is laid to rest.
  • Bed- a very comfortable bed that will put to sleep the most steady player.
  • Shrine - a shrine to honour the Moloch who defends this realm from harm. For only Moloch can bring light into the abyss itself.
  • Wardinator - a warden summoning room, binds him and holds him paralyzed until he is needed.
  • Swamp Triumvirate - The true rulers of the swamp.
  • Mossy reserve - an available growing reserve of moss.
  • Tonal attunement room - the Wardens' abilities are checked daily.
  • Warden holding - a warden powers this room.
  • Deep squids - grown deep underground, these squids stick to the roof.
  • Navigator's room - A room for the Piglins to learn of more deep locations, utilizes special tools of shard manufacture.
  • Deep armoury - this armoury makes Netherite gear infused with shard essence.
  • Mudhouse - a large basement made entirely of mud.
