The Kurwan Central Banking Company was established to stabalize and standardize the value of emeralds in the server's economy. It currently operates as a purely altruistic entity and makes very little or no profit. Players are encouraged to buy and sell emeralds for a small selection of valuable materials. By keeping these trades straight and not including a fee, the Kurwan Central Banking Co. hopes to flood the market with emeralds until their worth equals that of the Bank's projection (.5 diamonds).

At the time of its founding, the server's markets were unable to agree what an emerald was worth. Some players sold emeralds for small batches of cookies and others sold them for a handful of diamonds. On the rare occassion there was any concensus on the value of an emerald, it was agreed that the emerald was worth more than a diamond. V1adimirr, founder of the Kurwan Central Banking Company, found this to be unsatisfactory given the nature of diamonds and emeralds: diamond must be mined and has intrinsic worth and value based on its rarity and its practicality while emeralds can be created easily and repeatedly through yev-trading and can cost as little as a few pieces of wheat.
V1adimirr, sitting upon the vast fortune of the venerable Kurwan Empire, decided that his wealth would be better spent altruistically on bettering the server than sitting in his vault and thus was the idea for the Kurwa Central Banking Co. born. The bank was quickly built and offered modest exchange rates between emeralds and diamonds, gold, iron, glowstone, and obsidian. The vast supply of each of these materials that V1adimirr had accumulated was to support the price of emeralds until it had settled at the desired value. Within the first 24 hours of the bank's service, over 300 emeralds exchanged hands.
