The Three Hours' War

With the arrival of Breshik and its leader, Shakomatic, many users on the server were disgruntled, perceiving Shakomatic's enthusiastic nationalism for arrogance. A great number of battles were fought between the Lakota and Breshik after they adopted a Cowboys and Indiands theme between the two of them. Kurwa became involved when Breshik announced it was giving the Lakota their own land in order to enhance the experience of their role-playing. Kurwa objected, noting that the land the Lakota were to inhabit was, in fact, Kurwan soil: Krieg Island.

Kurwa claimed that it had been using the island for months before Shakomatic even knew about the server for war games practices and pointed to a number of small outposts, statues, and chests belonging to V1adimirr containing swords. Shakomatic refused to accept Kurwa's evidence, in some cases out-right ignoring the existence of some, stating that it was not sufficient to warrant a lawful claim on the island. Shakomatic has been criticised for his handling of the situation by some, notably Kurwa, who believe he could have stationed the Lakota in any number of places that were not disputed and rather chose the more difficult approach for no apparent reason.

After a long debate, Kurwa decided to compromise and offered the Lakota some land on the condition that they renounced any current or future alliance with the Breshik. This clause would become of particular importance to the conflict as Shakomatic would later claim that he didn't agree to this, though Kurwa continued to hold up the link to the KC post as evidence to the contrary. Later, after more fighting between the Lakota and Breshik, the Lakota came to Kurwa and asked for protection. Kurwa, eager to have a venue to be against Breshik, whom they now say as an enemy after the Krieg Island debate, accepted the Lakota as a protectorate. Shakomatic would later dispute this status as illegal, having interpreted the land agreement as barring the Lakota from any military alliance.

Some time later, the Lakota fell under attack once again by a raiding party led by Shakomatic in a battle known as the Black Hills Expedition. Kurwa leapt to defend its protectorate and announced to the Breshik Government that it had declared war on them. Kurwa asked for a time and place to have the first battle, but it was later reported by Lakotan and Kurwan officials that Shakomatic had replied, “they want to schedule a battle? fags.” Shakomatic would later deny this.

Kurwa, insulted and further provoked by Breshik, decided that since the enemy refused to recognise the established the international rules of engagement that they could launch a lawful assault at any time. They announced their intentions and asked for support from other nations who also had grievances against Shakomatic and Breshik. Breshik would later claim they didn't see these announcements. V1adimirr, supported by the newly formed Kurwan Military, the Westward Isles Militia, and elements of Kurwa's then-enemy's military, Batt.x, lead an attack upon Karak Sakor.

V1adimirr sounded the attack and the Coalition of the Willing stormed the dwarven capital, cutting down the standing dwarf army numerous times with a single casualty. Shakomatic would again question the legitimacy of the attack, saying that he was unable to warn his constituents of the impending danger. Kurwa would argue that their intentions were made public on the server numerous times. The dwarves online eventually surrendered and the coalition returned to their respective homes. A thread was started on KC and the Coalition announced the land they were annexing as a prize of war. Shakomatic refused to accept this, stating that since he was not online at the time it was unlawful. Alphabernd supported the coalition's side at the time but would later wash his hands of the entire ordeal as the argument went on.

Project Petrus was later built by Kurwa to legitimise its claim to the new land. For weeks this went on without objection, leading Kurwa to believe the matter to be settled. After months, Shakomatic challenged the claim, stating he had only now noticed it, pointing to “matters in the capital” as the reason he hadn't noticed sooner. This would later lead to The First Bresho-Kurwan Pact.
