Spawn is near New Berndtown, a city few buildings that will inheret none not a lot of the 1.7-1.2 politics. It's on the edge of a mountain range overlooking an ocean. Kindacool.
I have a giant automated quarry, some machinery, and a storage center set up on one side of the area and built my house on the other side with a town square in the middle. Thought maybe we could put a town hall against the square in the middle. Ca told me not to start on it because my government buildings are shit apparently.
I think your gov buildings are very nice and not shit.

I don't mind a fork of the community, really, all I care about is my own stable server. But here's a tip: Bukkit administration is a PITA. You'll need at least one at least remotely competent Linux administrator with substantial stamina, and the only one who stepped up besides me when Alpha abdicated was Spacefish007 (rarely on, you might need to hunt him down if you choose not to use someone from your own troupe). Perhaps he's still willing to do it.
Also you'll need a powerful server because bukkit is crazy CPU hungry (I've been comtemplating Canarymod for a while now, but this would mean a substantial change, also while faster, it's as incompatible with tekkit as it gets).
